Surface preparation
-
The substrate must be free of defects, predominantly even, clean and finely porous, free of pits, voids, cracks, dust, tar, bitumen, old paint and other factors that impair adhesion.
-
Wood and metal inclusions should be removed and active leaks should be repaired with MasterSeal 591 or other methods.
-
Cavities and sinks must be filled with mixtures from the MasterEmaco series.
-
At vertical and horizontal corners, a rounding with a radius of at least 4 cm should be used.
-
The substrate must be thoroughly moistened before coating.
-
If the material, after being applied to the surface, begins to quickly lose water.
-
This means that the surface is not sufficiently moistened.
-
For application in conditions of high temperature or in windy weather, it is possible to increase the dosage of water by 10%.
Mixing
-
Pour in water and slowly add MasterTile WP 665 to a clean mixing container and mix at low speed 400-600 rpm for 3-5 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
-
Leave the mixture for 3-5 minutes to ripen, then stir again for 30 seconds.
-
After that, the mixture is ready for use.
-
Ratio: 20 kg / 4.6 liters of water.
Application of MasterTile WP 665
-
The prepared mortar is applied by Thoro Brush with a brush or spatula in 2 or 3 layers in perpendicular fusing one to the other.
-
The time interval between layers depends on the application conditions.
-
Consumption (powder).
-
1st layer - 1.5 kg / m2.
-
2nd layer - 1.3 kg / m2.
- 3rd layer - 1.2 kg / m2.
Important aspects when applying
-
The film thickness of each coating layer should not exceed 2mm.
-
The air temperature and the substrate temperature must be at least 5º C or not more than 25º C.
-
Do not use MasterTile WP 665 in the rain or if there is a chance of rain.
-
MasterTile WP 665 applied at +23°C gains mechanical strength after 2 days, becomes waterproof after 7 days and gains final strength after 14 days.
-
The coating must be protected from direct sunlight, wind, frost or rain for 24 hours.
-
The application time of systems based on cement and acrylic emulsions depends on the temperature and relative humidity of the air.
-
At low temperatures, the reaction slows down, which increases the working time and setting time.
-
High temperature speeds up the reaction and the times mentioned above are reduced.
-
In order for the material to harden, the temperatures of the material, substrate and air cannot be less than the minimum permitted temperatures.
-
Areas that are not yet fully cured should not come into contact with water.
-
Do not use MasterTile WP 665 as a pavement in pedestrian areas, additional surface protection is required.
-
The coating must be protected with a screed (based on the modifying additive MasterCast 125 ) or ceramic tiles.
- Apply, for laying tiles, materials from the MasterTile series.
Cleaning tools
-
Clean tools and equipment with warm soapy water after use.
- Once MasterTile WP 665 has hardened, it can be mechanically removed from the surface.
