LITOCEM PRONTO | Pre-mixed, ready-to-use mortar with normal setting time for fast drying interior and exterior screeds.

DESCRIPTION

  • Pre-mixed, ready-to-use cement composition, based on special hydraulic binders, organic additives and inert frost-resistant additives of selected granulometry;

  • The product is characterized by normal setting time, fast drying and controlled shrinkage.

BENEFITS

  • Ready-to-use product, requires only the addition of water, which avoids errors in the dosage of binder and inert filler;

  • Suitable for making screeds in places where the delivery of inert fillers is difficult, for example, in the historical center of the city or at a construction site;

  • Also in the case when it is difficult to find fractional aggregates of good quality;

  • Reaches mechanical strength in a short time, after 12 hours it is already possible to walk on it;

  • Accelerated styling time due to fast drying;

  • Laying ceramics is possible after 24 hours, natural stone and resin-based self-leveling coating - after 2 days, parquet and other coatings (linoleum, PVC, etc.) - after 4 days;

  • The device of couplers over heating elements without addition of plasticizers;

  • Very low emission of volatile organic compounds (Classification EMICODE - EC1 R Plus).

 APPLICATION AREA

  • Execution of internal and external cement screeds

  • Anchor ties with a thickness of 20 to 40 mm;

  • The product is indispensable for the production of thin screeds, on pre-existing substrates, usually made of concrete slabs, old ceramic tiles or natural stone;

  • In this case, after performing the proper preparation of the substrate (cleaning, degreasing, etc.), immediately before pouring the mixture, apply a uniform contact layer consisting of Portland cement 32.5 or 42.5, water and Idrokol X20 in the following proportion: • Portland cement 32.5 / 42.5: 3 parts • Water: 1 part • Idrokol X20: 1 part;

  • Then apply the Litocem Pronto mixture while the contact layer (increasing adhesion to the substrate) is still wet (wet-on-wet method);

  • Special care must be taken in hot climates or windy conditions so that the cement slurry does not form a surface film before pouring - this will impair adhesion;

  • Floating ties with a thickness of 40 to 80 mm;

  • As a vapor barrier, sheets of polyethylene or similar material are laid;

  • They must be overlapped so that they overlap each other to a width of at least 20 cm, connect them together with a sealed tape to prevent slipping;

  • Lay the same tape around the entire perimeter of the room and in places where the floor level rises and then lay the Litocem Pronto mortar;

  • Floating screeds, on a layer of thermal or sound insulation: in this case, the thickness of the screed and reinforcement must be calculated in accordance with the degree of compressibility of the materials of the underlying layers;

 Screeds with floor heating or cooling systems

  • There are floating screeds, in the thickness of which heating and cooling equipment is laid;

  • The thickness of the screed above the pipes must be ≥ 30 mm before laying ceramics, natural stone, parquet, etc.;

  • The object must be submitted for a duty cycle test in accordance with the UNI EN 1264-4 standard.

PREPARATION FOR WORK

  • Lay Litoside expansion tape along the length of the entire perimeter, as well as in lifting points (columns, beams, etc.);

  • As alternative materials, extruded polystyrene foam, cork, etc., 5 mm thick can be used;

  • When installing floating screeds or screeds laid on a vapor barrier, it is necessary to lay a suitable vapor barrier (made of polyethylene or similar material) against the effect of rising moisture, overlapping the sheets to a width of at least 20 cm, connect them together with a tape, lay the same tape around the perimeter and in all places of increasing the level of the floor for the entire thickness of the screed;

  • Avoid passing pipes below the thickness of the screed, as sharp level changes can lead to cracking and sagging of the screed;

  • If this cannot be avoided, it is recommended that pipes or sewers be rigidly fixed and a light reinforcing hexagonal mesh be laid in this area.

 SOLUTION PREPARATION

  • Dilution ratio: 1.6 liters of water (6.4%) per 25 kg (1 bag) Litocem Pronto;

  • Mixing is carried out mechanically, using a concrete mixer, a mixer with a screw nozzle or using an automatic Turbosol pump;

  • The resulting mixture has the consistency of wet soil.

 APPLICATION

  • Set the beacons to the desired screed level;

  • Compact the mixture to reduce cavities or voids, level with a metal rule at the level of the lying beacons, to obtain a smooth surface without water outlets;

  • Pouring can be done manually, with a spatula, or directly from a concrete mixer;

  • In the event of a break in work, it is necessary to place metal bars with a diameter of 5 mm and a length of about 30 cm, at a distance of 20-30 cm from each other. If a crust has formed, then when resuming work, we advise you to treat the junction with a contact solution: cement 32.5 or 42.5, water and IDROKOL X20;

  • When adding a new portion of the solution, always check if the previous layer has set. Alternatively, you can make a threshold for the entire width of the screed.

JOINTS

 The size of the joints should be determined at the design stage, taking into account the following factors:

  • screed type;

  • architectonic conditions;

  • the presence of elements with breaks;

  • type and size of coating material;

  • environmental conditions;

  • further use of the coating;

Expansion joints (structural joints) are needed to ensure normal compression and expansion of the screed and are installed in the following cases:

  • thresholds;

  • coverage area over 40 m2;

  • rooms with a length of more than 8 m;

  • in the presence of gaps;

  • in case of a sharp change in the size of the coating The UNI 11493 standard provides for joints from 5x5 m to 6x4 m, for indoor use, and from 3x3 m to 4x2.5 m for outdoor conditions.

  • the implementation of these joints involves mechanical cutting;

  • it can be carried out as soon as the screed is ready (no more than 24 hours) and must cover at least one third of the thickness;

  • if reinforcement is present in the screed, it is advisable not to damage it;

  • Structural joints are best done while the concrete is being poured.

HEATED FLOORS

  • After 4 days (at least), after laying the screed based on Litocem Pronto,  you can start the heating system with a water supply temperature of +20 ° C to +25 ° C, for at least 3 days;

  • Then set the maximum temperature and maintain it for another 4 days;

  • At the end of this cycle, the screed will be at room temperature and can be covered (see EN 1264-4).

RESIDUAL HUMIDITY

  • Residual moisture measurements of screeds based on Litocem Pronto  must only be carried out with a carbide moisture meter according to UNI 10329, as electronic moisture meters may show distorted values;

  • The following are the maximum residual moisture values depending on the type of flooring to be installed: - ceramic tiles, natural stone, resin-based self-leveling floors - 3% - parquet , PVC, rubber, linoleum - 2% - resinous floorings - follow the manufacturer's instructions.

SELECTION OF GLUE

The choice of the most suitable adhesive must be made depending on the type and format of the coating, the operating conditions and the intended use.

You can use the following adhesives:

  • Cement adhesive class C1-C2-C2F-C2FS1-C2FS2-C2S1-C2S2 (according to EN 12004 and EN 12002) mixed with water or aqueous dispersion latex;

  • Dispersion adhesive , ready to use, class D1-D2 (according to EN12004);

  • Two-component reactive adhesive class R1-R2 (according to EN 12004);

  • Two-component or vinyl adhesive for parquet;

  • Organic or two-component adhesive for PVC, rubber, linoleum;

  • Solvent based adhesive for carpets.

ATTENTION

  •  Do not add lime, cement or other materials to the product;

  •  Apply the product at temperatures from +5 to +35 °C;

  • Observe the exact proportions of water when preparing the solution;

  • Do not apply the product on substrates exposed to rising moisture;

  • In this case, you must first lay the vapor barrier, and pour the screed on it;

  • Do not add water to the solution after setting has begun;

  • Do not dampen the surface of the screed made by Litocem Pronto;

  • At high ambient temperatures, store packages in a cool place, protected from sunlight;

  • Do not use the product for purposes other than those specified in this technical description.
