for old old or new porous surfaces, which will subsequently be painted with VIMEPOX FLOORING and VIMEPOX TOP-COAT epoxy compositions;
-
for epoxy paints VIMEPOX COAT and VIMEPOX SP-COAT;
-
at the same time, the base can be plaster, concrete, brick, or puttied;
-
after application, it dries quickly, which allows you to apply the main material in a short time;
- VIMEPOX PRIMER-S, a colorless, two-component, solvent-based epoxy;
-
has high hardness and abrasion resistance;
-
resistant to water, acids, alkalis, oil products;
-
classified as SR-B2.0 according to EN 13813.

Base
The floor surface must be:
-
dry and durable;
-
cleaned of substances that prevent the adhesion of the material to the base, for example, dust, exfoliated surface areas, oils, etc.;
- protected from moisture rising through the capillaries in the body of the floor.
In particular, the following requirements for concrete or screed must be met:
-
concrete quality: minimum C20/25;
-
cement screed quality: cement content 350 kg/m3;
-
age: minimum 28 days;
-
moisture content: less than 4%.
Preparation of the substrate before epoxy coatings
Foundation preparation
-
Depending on the type of substrate, it must be brushed, milled or grinded, sandblasted, shot-blasted or water-blasted, etc.;
- After that, the surface must be cleaned of dust with a powerful industrial vacuum cleaner.
Mixing components
-
Components A (resin) and B (hardener) are packed in two separate containers, in the required proportion (by weight). Pour the entire contents of the container with component B into the container with component A;
-
Both components should be mixed for about 5 minutes using a low-speed drill (300 rpm);
- For uniform distribution of the hardener, it is important that the mixture is thoroughly mixed near the walls and bottom of the container.
Epoxy primer
Application/Consumption
-
VIMEPOX PRIMER-S is applied by roller or brush in one coat;
-
Consumption: 150-300 g/m2;
-
The base coat of the floor covering (eg VIMEPOX FLOORING) is applied after 20-24 hours. Not later;
-
If the application of VIMEPOXFLOORING is planned later than in 24 hours, it is necessary to pour quartz sand (grain size 0.4-0.8 mm) on the still “wet” primer layer.
-
After the primer layer has polymerized, sweep or vacuum away any unadhered sand;
- In this way, a surface with good adhesion to VIMEPOX FLOORING is formed.
Epoxy floors
Tool cleaning
Tools are cleaned with solvent immediately after use.
Package
VIMEPOX-PRIMER-S is supplied in packs (A+B) of 5 kg and 10 kg. Components A and B are packed in the required proportion by weight.
Note
-
The service life of epoxy systems depends on the ambient temperature;
-
The ideal application temperature is between +15°C and +25°C in order for the material to have the best workability and curing time;
-
At low temperatures (+30°C) the material cures much faster.
-
In winter, it is recommended to slightly warm the materials, and accordingly, in the summer, materials must be stored in a cool place before using them;
-
VIMEPOX PRIMER-S contains solvents, therefore, when working indoors, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation;
-
Adhesion between two layers of material may deteriorate due to the presence of moisture;
-
Each layer of epoxy must be protected from moisture for 4-6 hours after application.
-
Moisture may cause the surface to become whitish or sticky.
-
It can also interfere with polymerization.
-
In these cases, it is necessary to remove the applied layer of material and replace it with a new one;
-
If the time interval between applying the previous and subsequent layers of material exceeds the time specified in the instructions, or when applying a second layer of material to the old floor, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and sanded before applying a new layer;
-
In the polymerized state, VIMEPOX PRIMER-S does not pose a health hazard.
-
Read the safety instructions on the material label before using the material;
-
The base must not have defects that will appear after staining.
-
To do this, the surface must be treated accordingly, for example: grouting, sanding or puttying;
-
The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust and foreign particles;
-
VIMEPOX PRIMER-S is applied by roller or brush, usually in one coat.
-
If we want to improve penetration into a less absorbent surface, the material can be thinned up to 15% with VIMEPOX SOLVENT liquid;
- When working with this primer (VIMEPOX-PRIMER-S), adjacent surfaces vulnerable to this material must be carefully protected (windows, polystyrene, sealants, etc.).
Epoxy floors for food production
Storage
-
Shelf life is at least 12 months from the date of production in tightly closed packaging in a dry and cool place.
- Recommended storage temperature from +5°C to +35°C.
