MasterSeal 501 | Penetrating waterproofing for concrete
Rigid penetrating waterproofing with an armor layer for concrete floors
Basement floor waterproofing
Cellar floor waterproofing
Floor waterproofing in a private house
MasterSeal 501 | This is a capillary-crystalline waterproofing material, cement-based, penetrating action.
-
Consumption: 2.00 kg/m² (2 coats).
-
The material is applied to the surface of concrete in old and new structures , with negative and positive water pressure.
- With MASTERSIAL 501, it is possible to achieve a final, effective result in cases where there are problems such as leakage and water permeability on new and old surfaces, on concrete or in concrete structures.
Application area
-
Waterproofing bomb shelter.
-
Foundation waterproofing.
-
Floor waterproofing in a private house.
-
Floor waterproofing in the apartment.
-
Waterproofing the floor in the bathroom under the tiles.
-
Floor waterproofing before screed.
-
Waterproofing of basement walls (negative).
-
Waterproofing the floor in the garage.
-
Floor waterproofing on an open terrace.
- Floor waterproofing on an open balcony.
Application features
-
Used inside and outside;
-
Easy to prepare and use;
-
Long term of operation;
-
It is used both on vertical and on horizontal surfaces;
-
The use of materials ensures the creation of a complete and permanent waterproofing system, since, after application, the materials become an integral part of the building structure on which they are applied.
-
The active chemical reagents that got into the building structure do not decompose, do not flow out and are not washed out of it;
-
Materials protect the structure of concrete and reinforcing reinforcement from the impact and ingress of corrosive substances contained in water;
-
The crystallization reaction begins at the moment of contact of materials with water, providing long-term additional protection;
-
The materials are effectively resistant to water pressure, both from the outside and from the inside, of the treated building structures;
- The material is non-toxic.

Foundation preparation
-
As with all coating systems, base preparation is of paramount importance;
-
It is recommended that any residue be thoroughly cleaned of machine oils, grease, dust, vulcanization products, molding chemicals and all other adhesion impairing contaminants;
-
It is recommended to remove dirt with a light jet of air or water;
-
For small areas when cleaning, it is possible to use a metal brush;
-
Loose concrete, it is recommended to remove it before the appearance of sound concrete and restore it with a repair compound, Emaco S 88 C;
- The day before application, the surface should be saturated with water, the application should be carried out on a damp surface.
Preparation of waterproofing Masterseal 501
-
Always add water to MASTERSEAL 501 - not in reverse order;
-
Mix 1 part water with 2.25 to 2.5 parts MASTERSEAL powder by volume.
-
MASTERSEAL 501 is poured into a clean bucket, water is slowly added and mixed until a homogeneous solution is obtained, without lumps, for 3-5 minutes with a mixer at 400-600 rpm;
-
The solution should be allowed to settle for 3-5 minutes and mixed again for 30 seconds to fully prepare the solution;
-
Do not add additional water after initial mixing is complete.
Application of Masterseal 501
-
The concrete base is moistened with clean water to the extent that the moisture becomes visible, but no accumulation of water forms;
-
The material is applied with a short hair brush;
-
It is recommended to apply the material with a thickness of two covering layers, at right angles to the surface to be applied;
-
Apply a second coat over the first after 3-4 hours (depending on ambient temperature);
-
Detailed information on suitable equipment can be obtained from the technical service of BASF CC Central Asia.
Care of the material to achieve the degree of completeness
-
MASTERSEAL 501 must be protected from rapid drying and must be constantly moisturized for 5-7 days;
-
Components of materials for the care of concrete surfaces, not suitable for use in conjunction with the application technology of the material system of the MASTERSEAL 501 series;
-
Protect the material from weathering, weathering, sunlight, freezing for a minimum period of 5-7 days;
-
Reservoirs and other reservoirs containing water can be filled with water 24 hours after application of the MASTERSEAL 501 series, as the growth of insoluble crystals of active chemicals is accelerated by water pressure.
Consumption Masterseal 501
-
First coat: 1.00 kg/m²;
- Second coat: 1.00 kg/m².
Features needing attention
-
The ambient temperature should not be lower than +5°С and higher than +30°С;
-
Do not apply the material in rainy and windy weather;
-
MASTERSEAL 501 applied at 23°C becomes water resistant after 7 days;
-
When applied to external surfaces, measures must be taken to protect the surface from frost, rain, sun for 24 hours;
- Mix only the amount of MASTERSEAL material that you can use immediately within 20 minutes.
Tool cleaning
Immediately after completion of work, it is recommended to clean the equipment and tools involved in the work.
Package
20 kg. Craft bags.
Storage
-
It is recommended to store the material away from sunlight, in a state raised above the ground on pallets, protected from precipitation and moisture;
-
Avoid intensive compaction when storing material;
-
The material has a shelf life of 6 months when stored in tightly closed, original packaging.
Security measures
-
When using the material, you need to use overalls, goggles and gloves;
-
Do not allow the material to come into contact with the skin, in case of contact, wash off with plenty of water using hygiene products.
