Application procedure

It should be ensured that the concrete surface before laying the screed is strong, clean, and dry, capable of withstanding design loads;

The surface should not contain the remains of paint, oil, cement milk, crushed particles of the base, gypsum mixtures, waxes, dust and other elements that can reduce adhesion;
Repair cracks, seams, large potholes in advance;
On large squares, set the level with beacons;

Primer application

In order to prolong the time of laying the screed and improve its adhesion to the base, minimize the formation of defects from air, use the appropriate primer;

MasterTile P300 (RC) is applied by brush or roller;
It is necessary to apply a primer in 2 layers on highly absorbent bases;

After drying, subsequent layers can be applied;

Stirring

It is necessary to prepare in advance the required number of bags of Emako MasterTop 528 dry mixture in accordance with the recommended consumption rates;
Application should be made in accordance with the recommendations indicated below;

Pour the required amount of water using a measuring cup into a clean mixing container;
Slowly add the Emako dry mix;
Mix with a low-speed mixer at a speed of 400-600 revolutions per minute for 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture without lumps is obtained;
After 3 minutes, stir again for 60 seconds;

To obtain an ideal smooth, beautiful surface, a quick and uniform supply of the liquid mixture to the site is required;
Depending on the volume of the screed (its area and thickness), it may be necessary to use more productive equipment and/or the number of mixers for mixing and mix more than one bag per batch;

For a large area, we strongly recommend using a stationary mixer and mortar pump.

Application

Repair mixture Emako should be distributed over the surface with a spatula or squeegee with the required thickness of the layer;
The mixture has a pouring consistency and is leveled independently, with minimal help from the tool;

After mixing, the finished mixture should be poured onto the base from a height of no more than 20 cm in order not to create splashes and not to draw excess air into the layer of material;

The mixture should be delivered to the site and laid sufficiently quickly and evenly, without stops;
It should be laid in a systematic order, not chaotically, in order to avoid the formation of "puzzles", cold vertical and horizontal seams, the joining of bookmarks is done wet-on-wet;

Roll the mixture with a needle roller immediately after pouring the mixture to remove air bubbles from the solution;
Do not roll with a needle roller the material that was laid more than 2-3 minutes ago;

The maximum thickness is 30 mm;
MasterTop 528 should not be used at temperatures below +5°C;
You should avoid laying the coating in conditions of low humidity, high temperature, under the influence of intense sunlight or strong wind;
Do not add water during the curing period.

Consumption

Consumption is 1.69 kg of powder per 1 m2 of area at a thickness of 1 mm.

Precautions

The product must be used by qualified installers;

During the laying process, the temperature of the environment, base, material should be in the range from +5 ºС to +25 ºС;

Do not lay the product at low humidity, in the heat, in the open sun, in windy weather;

For use in the cold, the bags with the material should be heated to +25C and use warm tap water;

The terms of operation and hardening of cement-based systems depend on the temperature of the environment and the surface, the relative humidity of the air;

At low temperatures, hydration slows down, which prolongs the time of working with the mixture and the setting time;
High temperatures accelerate hydration, as a result of which the time of working with the mixture and the setting time are reduced;
For complete solidification of the material, the temperature of the environment and the surface should not fall below the specified minimum limits;

Follow the mixing proportions and installation instructions;
Wait 3 minutes between the first and final mixing;

Before laying the coating (PVC, parquet) on top of MasterTop 528, you should wait at least 3 days;

Protect from moisture evaporation by covering with a membraine;
Do not spray water and do not use film-forming agents, which can worsen the adhesion of subsequent layers;

Seams in the screed must repeat the seams in the concrete base to avoid cracks.

Cleaning tools

After use, the used tools and equipment must be washed with water;
After hardening, MasterTop 528 can be cleaned from the surface only mechanically;

Packaging

A bag made of kraft paper with polyethylene reinforcement for 25 kg.

Storage

The material should be stored in the original packaging in a dry, cool place (at a temperature of +5°C +25°C;
Long-term storage of pallets - only in one row.

Expiry date

Under appropriate storage conditions - 6 months from the date of manufacture.

Safety measures

Do not approach warehouses during a fire;
Products should be stored in well-ventilated rooms;
Work clothes, protective gloves, goggles and a mask should be used during work in accordance with the rules of occupational health and safety;
Since non-hardened materials have an irritating effect, the components should not be allowed to come into contact with the skin and eyes, and in case of contact, it is necessary to expose them to intense sunlight or strong wind;
Do not add water during the curing period.
