Application

LITOPLUS K55 | Dry adhesive mixture, extra-white color, based on Portland cement, inert fillers of selected fraction and organic additives.

Litoplus tile adhesive is a one-component product for laying mosaics and ceramics in swimming pools;
Lithopus to 55 has a pure, white color, which expands the color range of the mosaic used - a small fraction allows you to lay glass mosaic;
Superior, frost and waterproof tile adhesive;
Italian tile adhesive , a product with a very low emission of volatile organic compounds, complies with EC1Plus (Emicode) and A+ (French Regulation) classes.

Designed for interior and exterior, floor and wall cladding with glass, ceramic and stone mosaics, as well as all types of ceramic tiles;
It is used for lining swimming pools, bathrooms, shower cabins, bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, terraces, facades, as well as laying tiles on existing ceramic surfaces and heated floors;

The bases must be dry, even, strong, have sufficient bearing capacity;
Surfaces must be pre-cleaned from all kinds of dirt, dust, traces of grease, oils, paints and any substances that weaken the adhesive ability of the adhesive .

The purpose of the implementation of expansion joints is to divide the continuity of the tiled surface in order to compensate for dimensional changes and deformations to which a multi-layer system consisting of tiles, adhesive and base is subjected;
Joints must be taken into account both in the adjacent layers and in the cladding.

Seam filling products: profiles made of PVC, aluminium, steel (depending on the intensity of the foreseen walking) or silicone sealants from the Litokol range.

Mix in a clean container 8.75 liters of clean water and 25 kg (1 bag) of Litoplus K55 dry adhesive mixture;
Slowly pour the powder into the water with constant stirring with an electric drill with a mixing attachment until a homogeneous, lump-free solution is obtained;

Spread the prepared adhesive solution on the base surface with the smooth side of the trowel, forming a layer of 1 mm, and immediately after that, apply the comb adhesive solution with the notched side of the trowel;
The size of the spatula teeth is selected depending on the format of the facing tile;
When laying the mosaic, it is recommended to use a spatula with a 3.5 mm tooth;

In any case, it is necessary to ensure that the back side of the tile is covered with glue by 65 - 70% for interior work and 100% for exterior cladding and floors subject to heavy loads;
Also, for external facings or in places with increased loads, it is recommended to apply glue both on the base and on the back of the tile (double application method).

When facing with mosaics on a paper or mesh base, lay the sheets face up directly on a fresh layer of glue, evenly pressing with a rubber spatula over the entire surface of each sheet;
The distance between adjacent sheets should be equal to the distance between adjacent pieces of the mosaic so that all the seams of the mosaic lining are the same.

The paper used to assemble the mosaic is removed with a damp sponge only after the adhesive has gained residual strength (after 24 hours);
In order not to disturb the curing process of the adhesive, use a minimum amount of water to remove the paper.

The tile is laid on the adhesive with pressure to ensure its contact with the adhesive surface;
The open layer time of the product under normal temperature and humidity is 30 minutes;
A hot or windy climate or a highly absorbent substrate can reduce this by a few minutes;

Therefore, when working, it is recommended to check the absence of a formed film on the surface of the adhesive more often;
If the film is nevertheless formed, it should be removed from the surface by passing over it with a notched trowel;

The tile is laid with seams, the width of which corresponds to its format;
It is not recommended to lay tiles end-to-end;
When laying, observe expansion and dividing seams;
Leave a gap of at least 5 mm wide along the partitions, as well as at the junction with any other protruding elements;

The lined surface must be protected from water during the first 24 hours, and also, during the first 5-7 days - from frost and direct sunlight.

For grouting, you can use cement grouts of the Litochrom series, epoxy grouts of the Starlike series and Epoxystuk X90 ;

For acid-resistant floors, Epoxystuk X90, Starlike and Starlike Defender epoxy grouts are recommended.

At low ambient temperature, high humidity and increased thickness of the adhesive layer, the curing time of the adhesive increases;
