Polymer emulsion VIRESIN | Latex additive for concrete, used in building mixtures, as well as for creating thin layers of concrete structures.
Advantages of Viresin polymer additive
-
Reduced water-cement ratio: improves mortar and concrete performance;
- Plasticizing additive for concrete : significantly increases plasticity, preserves water in fresh mix, improving its workability.
-
Crack Resistant Concrete : limits settling shrinkage, prevents cracking;
-
Acrylic additive for concrete, increases adhesion to the bases;
-
Liquid acrylic additive for cement mixtures : improves the elasticity of the hardening mixture;
-
Latex emulsion for concrete : increases bending, tearing and friction strength;
-
Acrylic latex, greatly improves abrasion resistance;
-
Latex admixture for concrete : improves chemical resistance, for example, to petroleum products;
-
Hydrophobic admixture for concrete : gives structures water resistance and strength under cyclical temperature changes, expansion and contraction.

Applications
-
Adhesive lubricant between the old base and a new layer of concrete or mortar;
-
Repair mortars and thin-layer coatings.
-
As a latex admixture for concrete, VIRESIN is widely used in mortars containing lime;
-
Waterproofing plasters and plasters of high strength;
-
Viresin , creates waterproof cement mixtures that are resistant to hydrostatic pressure;
-
For base screeds resistant to wear;
-
"Floating" ties over insulating layers;
- Impregnation for concrete or mortar , to create a dust-free surface;
- Adhesive for insulating and finishing tiles , as well as for various types of coatings;
- Concrete and building mortars resistant to chemicals and oil products;
- To improve the performance of building paints and primers resistant to wear and water absorption;
-
Protection of fresh concrete structures from dehydration (rapid loss of moisture).
Foundation preparation
-
The bases must be cleaned of dust, loose fragments, grease and oil stains, old plaster, paint and cement residues;
- Further, 12-24 hours before the start of the main work, it must be moistened to saturation, but at the same time, without creating puddles.
Application
-
VIRESIN building emulsion is added to water;
-
The required amount of VIRESIN depends on the needs of the work performed (see application technology);
-
The use of additives in very small quantities does not lead to the desired result;
-
It is not recommended to dilute VIRESIN more than 1:5 with water;
-
In order to avoid the formation of lumps, water and VIRESIN are fed into the concrete mixer first , and then cement and inert materials;
-
The kneading of the mixture should not last more than 2-3 minutes, otherwise the small bubbles formed reduce its strength;
- VIRESIN significantly increases the workability of the mixture, which entails an increase in its curing time.
Measures for handling mixtures containing VIRESIN.
Despite the fact that mixtures containing VIRESIN are more workable than standard ones, nevertheless, the surfaces of structures made using this polymer emulsion must be moistened periodically to avoid the process of rapid dehydration and the appearance of cracks (especially at high ambient temperatures).
Mixing proportions in parts by volume (p.a.)
Adhesive lubricant between the old base and the new layer of concrete or mortar
On the prepared surface, a mixture is applied with a brush, 2 mm thick, which consists of:
1 hour Cement.
1 hour Sand.
1 hour VIRESIN.
-
The mixture is diluted with water in the amount necessary for it to acquire a viscous consistency;
-
In practice, for the preparation of grease, the best result is achieved by adding 10% water to VIRESIN ;
-
The old concrete surface is covered with a mixture 15-20 minutes before the start of a new concreting or applying a new layer of mortar;
-
In any case, a fresh coat follows the freshly applied lubricant;
- Consumption VIRESIN : 0.20-025 kg/m2/mm.
Purpose
-
Cold joints created during concreting;
-
Adhesive layer between old and new concrete or mortar surfaces;
-
Coating to contain negative hydrostatic pressure;
-
Adhesive layer for applying plaster on the glossy surface of concrete structures and thermal insulation boards (polystyrene, polyurethane, etc.);
-
As a rule, in the last two cases, VIRESIN is also used to create subsequent layers.
Repair mortars and thin-layer coatings for concrete floors and screeds
1 hour Cement.
2 hours Sand.
0.25-0.30 p.p. VIRESIN.
- The ratio of cement to water (W / C) ≤ 0.40 - workability;
-
In practice, VIRESIN is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1 to 1:2, after which it is used to mix the solution;
- Consumption of VIRESIN : 1.00-1.50 kg/m2/cm.
Purpose
Repair work to restore the surfaces of concrete structures (cells, grooves, corners, edges of columns, crossbars, flights of stairs, etc.), local flaws and cracks in plaster, as well as bases made of concrete or mortar, creating leveling screeds that are resistant to wear;
Base ties resistant to wear
1 hour Cement.
2.5 hours Sand.
0.25 p.p. VIRESIN.
- The ratio of cement to water (W / C) ≤ 0.50 - workability;
- Based on the practice of using the material, VIRESIN is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:2.
- Consumption of VIRESIN : 0.10 kg/cm.
Purpose
Floors of industrial enterprises , laboratories, warehouses, garages, hygienic skirting boards in food processing shops, as well as sealing skirting boards, at the junction of walls and floors when waterproofing basements and tanks.
"Floating" ties over insulating layers
1 hour Cement.
3 hours Sand
0.15 p.p. VIRESIN.
- The ratio of cement to water (W / C) ≤ 0.45 - workability;
-
Based on the practice of using the material, VIRESIN is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:4;
- Consumption of VIRESIN : 0.3 kg/m2/cm.
Purpose
"Floating" screeds over elastic soundproofing boards, heated floors.
Impregnation for concrete or mortar to create a dust-free surface
1 hour VIRESIN.
1-2 hours Water.
-
This impregnation, obtained by mixing water with VIRESIN, moistens the surface of fresh concrete or mortar;
-
When this surface is hardened and suitable for walking on it, it can be processed with a mechanism for ironing floors ("helicopter"). Thus, the efficiency of using this impregnation for this purpose increases.
- VIRESIN consumption : 0.10-0.20 kg/m2.
Purpose
-
This method of manufacturing industrial floors is the most economical;
-
At the same time, the floors do not generate dust, they are distinguished by mechanical and chemical strength, they completely replace coatings from construction chips, screeds from mortars, etc.
