VIMEPOX W-BARRIER | The polymer primer for concrete is a three-component, water-soluble epoxy system (components A and B), with the addition of hydraulic cement, in the form of powder (component C).
Epoxy primer for concrete, provides excellent adhesion to the wet surface of concrete-based.
Application

Strengthening primer for concrete VIMEPOX W-BARRIER, used as a primer for surfaces of fresh (age < 28 days) or wet concrete structures.
- After applying an epoxy primer for concrete , it is permissible to use epoxy coatings such as VIMEPOX FLOORING and VIMEPOX TOP-COAT or epoxy paints such as VIMEPOX F-COAT and VIMEPOX SP-COAT.

Requirements for the foundation
-
Concrete floors of category no less than C 20/25.
-
Floors made of screed concrete mortar, with a cement content of 350 kg/m3.
The floor surface should be:
-
durable, without recesses with standing water;
- cleaned of loose fragments or other materials that prevent adhesion, for example, oil.

And finally, to achieve an absolute result, before applying the primer to the surface, it is necessary to subject it to mechanical processing , by grinding it or milling it .
- After reaching the required roughness, clean it with a powerful industrial vacuum cleaner.
Application - consumption of material

First, mix the liquid components - A and B with a mixer at low speed (300 rpm) for approximately 5 minutes.

Then, at a low mixing speed, add component C (powder) and continue mixing until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Mixing the components should take place in a clean bucket with a volume of up to 30 liters, and not in a container containing components A and B.

Before priming the surface with the resulting mixture, it is necessary to putty all cracks, cells and dents.

Next, the surface is covered with a brush or roller with the prepared VIMEPOX W-BARRIER primer mixture, diluted with approximately 5% water .

After the layer has hardened (usually after 24 hours), the second layer is applied.
- At the end of the work, the tools must be cleaned - washed with water or a special solvent for epoxy compounds - VIMEPOX SOLVENT .
Variants of application and consumption

Material consumption: 0.60-0.70 kg/m2 for two layers, with a layer thickness of 1 mm.

The application of any epoxy coating from the VIMEPOX category is possible after 48 hours from the moment of applying the primer, if the humidity of the finished base does not exceed 4%.
Instrument care
Instruments should be cleaned with VIMEPOX SOLVENT immediately after use.
Storage and packaging
VIMEPOX W-BARRIER must be stored in closed containers, in rooms with a temperature not lower than +10°C in winter and in a place protected from sunlight in summer.
The storage period is at least 24 months.
Note and precautions

The ambient temperature during the application of the material should not be lower than +10°С - +12°С.

Otherwise, the grasping process will be slowed down. In the case of low temperatures, preheating of components A and B is possible, taking into account precautions.

The ideal temperature for applying the primer is from +15°С to +25°С.
