Characteristics
Application

VIMAPUR VARNISH - transparent, two-component, solvent-based polyurethane varnish.

  • It is used as a final protective coating of the surfaces of concrete and cement structures, stone, decorative brick, wood, metal and polyester.

  • It contains substances that protect against the effects of ultraviolet rays, which provide the surface with long-term resistance to solar radiation;
  • VIMAPUR VARNISH preserves the gloss of the coated material and prevents it from yellowing over time. 

  • And it also preserves the matte appearance of the surface, where shine is undesirable;

  • The material has excellent adhesion, even in cases of glossy surfaces, such as galvanized metal sheets;

  • Consumption -  0.12 - 0.16 kg / m2 per one layer.

Varnish gives the surface :

  • high mechanical strength;

  • chemical resistance (diluted acids and alkalis);

  • tightness;

The foundation

  • The base must be solid, without dust, grease and pollutants that prevent the adhesion of the material;

  • An important factor affecting the polymerization process is the humidity of the base (≤4%) and the humidity of the environment (≤ 65%);

  • In the case of impregnation of the base, it must dry before varnish is applied to obtain the desired result;

  • Attention! If siloxane impregnation was applied to the surface of the base, then VIMAPUR VARNISH should not be applied.

Priming with a primer

  • To protect  the steel surface with VIMAPUR VARNISH varnish, it should be primed with water-based polyurethane primer VIMAPUR PRIMER-W. 

  • In this case, the varnish should be applied after the final drying of the primer, not less than 24 hours;

  • If the base has a high absorbent capacity, then the surface should be primed with VIMAPUR VARNISH, having previously diluted it with a special THINNER-PU solvent in an amount of up to 15%.

Application of polyurethane varnish

  • The two components are emptied into a clean container and mixed for at least 3 minutes. 

  • Then the mixture settles for ~ 5 minutes to initiate the reaction of the two components; 

  • Next, the ready-to-use varnish is applied to the surface with a brush or roller, at least in two layers;

  • Consumption  0.12 - 0.16 kg / m2 per one layer.

Cleaning tools

Tools are cleaned with THINNER-PU solvent immediately after use.

Storage

  • Component A: 2 years, if the material is stored in factory sealed packaging, in a room protected from frost, moisture and high temperatures (> 350 C);

  • Component B: 6 months, if the material is tightly sealed in the factory packaging. 

  • The material easily polymerizes under the influence of moisture.

Precautions

  • VIMAPUR VARNISH-W after drying is safe for health;

  • Before using it, it is necessary to carefully read the contents of the safety instructions on the packaging.
