BASE
-
The bases must be dry, even, strong, have sufficient bearing capacity;
-
Surfaces must be pre-cleaned from all kinds of dirt, dust, traces of grease, oils, paints and any substances that weaken the adhesive ability of the adhesive.
- To reduce water absorption of the substrate and increase adhesion, pre-treat with Primer X94 or Primer C.
EXPANSION JOINTS
-
The purpose of the implementation of expansion joints is to divide the continuity of the tiled surface in order to compensate for dimensional changes and deformations to which a multi-layer system consisting of tiles, adhesive and base is subjected;
-
Seams must be taken into account, both in the adjacent layers and in the lining;
-
Products for grouting : profiles made of PVC, aluminium, steel (depending on the intensity of the planned traffic), or silicone sealants from the Litokol range.
SOLUTION PREPARATION
-
Mix in a clean container 6.5 liters of clean water and 25 kg (1 bag) of dry adhesive mixture Litokol K17 ;
-
Slowly pour the powder into the water, with constant stirring with an electric drill with a mixing nozzle until a homogeneous, lump-free solution is obtained.
Preparation of Litokol K17 glue + mixture of water / Latexkol
-
To obtain a solution, pour 3.75 kg of Latexkol latex additive and 3.75 liters of water into a clean container and mix;
-
Pour gradually 25 kg (1 bag) of Litokol K17 glue into the latex with water while continuously mixing with an electric drill with a mixing nozzle until a homogeneous, lump-free mass is obtained.
Preparation of Litokol K17 + Latexkol glue
-
To obtain a solution, pour 8.25 kg of Latexkol latex additive into a clean container;
-
Pour gradually 25 kg (1 bag) of Litokol K17 glue with continuous stirring with an electric drill with a mixing nozzle until a homogeneous, lump-free mass is obtained.
-
Attention! The resulting adhesive solution withstand 5 minutes;
-
After repeated mixing, the adhesive is ready for use.
USING LATEXKOL
Litokol K17 + Latexkol is used for laying ceramic tiles with water absorption ≤1%, in wet rooms, underfloor heating, on terraces, tiles of large formats, as well as for lining with Hidroflex, Aquamaster, Elastocem or Coverflex waterproofing.
APPLICATION
-
Spread the prepared adhesive solution on the base surface with the smooth side of the trowel, forming a layer of 1 mm, and immediately after that, apply the comb adhesive solution with the notched side of the trowel;
-
The size of the spatula teeth is selected depending on the format of the facing tile and should ensure that the reverse side of the tile is covered with glue by 65 - 70% for interior work and 100% for exterior cladding and floors subject to heavy loads;
-
Also, for external facings or in places with increased loads, it is recommended to apply glue both on the base and on the back of the tile (double application method).
LAYING TILES
-
The tile is laid on the adhesive with pressure to ensure its contact with the adhesive surface;
-
The time of the open layer of the product at normal temperature and humidity is 20 minutes.;
-
A hot or windy climate, or a high absorbency of the substrate, can reduce this by several minutes;
-
Therefore, when working, it is recommended to check the absence of a formed film on the surface of the adhesive more often;
-
If the film is nevertheless formed, it should be removed from the surface by passing over it with a notched trowel;
-
The tile is laid with seams, the width of which corresponds to its format. It is not recommended to lay tiles end-to-end;
-
When laying, observe expansion and dividing seams;
-
Leave a gap of at least 5 mm wide along the partitions, as well as at the junction with any other protruding elements;
- The lined surface must be protected from water during the first 24 hours, and also, during the first 5-7 days - from frost and direct sunlight.
GROUTING THE SURFACE
-
For grouting, you can use cement grouts of the Litochrom series, epoxy grouts of the Starlike series and Epoxystuk X90;
- For acid-resistant floors, Epoxystuk X90, Starlike and Starlike Defender epoxy grouts are recommended.
ATTENTION
-
Do not add lime, cement to the product;
-
Tiles should not be soaked before starting work;
-
It is necessary to check that the back side of the tile is free of dust;
-
At low ambient temperature, high humidity and increased thickness of the adhesive layer, the curing time of the adhesive increases;
- Do not use the product for purposes other than those specified in this technical description.
