PREPARATION OF THE GROUNDS
-
The surface to be treated must be strong, clean, not have "rattling" areas, free from fats, oils, wax and other compounds that may interfere with adhesion;
-
Paint residues must be removed mechanically;
-
When working with gypsum surfaces, check the residual moisture content with a carbide moisture meter, the value should not exceed 0.5%;
-
Anhydrite surfaces should be wiped down before application;
-
Absorbent substrates must be pre-treated with Primer F (clean or diluted with water), applied in one or two coats, with a brush or roller, at a rate of approx. 300 g/m2.
-
After it dries, about 20 minutes, waterproofing can be applied.
APPLICATION
-
The product is applied with a flat brush, roller or smooth trowel, on the surface previously treated with Primer F;
-
Hidroflex is recommended to be applied in two cross coats at a rate of 1.3 kg/m2;
-
The second layer is applied to the dried first one (after about 2 hours at t +23°C);
-
The total thickness of the two layers must be at least 1 mm;
-
To ensure high tightness and durability of waterproofing, wall corner joints, wall-floor joints, drains and pipe outlets must be sealed with Litoband insulation material (tape, corners, squares - see technical description);
-
Litoband is placed during the application of Hidroflex, between the first and second coats;
-
Elastic membrane against cracking;
-
Cracks (maximum width 4 mm) must be cleaned of dust and possible chips, using compressed air or mechanically;
-
Spread the product over the surface with a smooth spatula until the cracks are completely filled;
-
Then apply a layer at least 2 mm thick, forming a strip approximately 15 cm wider than the tile to be glued;
-
In the case of "moving" cracks, it is recommended to sink an alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh into the Hidroflex layer;
- After drying, proceed with laying the tiles using a cementitious elastic adhesive (class C2-S2 according to EN 12004).
LAYING TILES
- Laying tiles can be started no earlier than 24 hours after applying the second layer of waterproofing;
- Choose glue depending on the type and format of the tile, guided by the summary tables.
ATTENTION
-
Do not apply the product on substrates subject to the effect of rising damp;
-
Do not use the product for outdoor work and places with constant presence of water, such as: water tanks, swimming pools, etc.
-
In such cases, use Elastocem or Coverflex;
-
Do not use the product on non-porous surfaces such as ceramic tiles or poorly absorbent cementitious surfaces.
-
In such cases, use Elastocem or Coverflex;
-
Protect the waterproofing layer from water for at least 24 hours after application;
-
The drying time of the product depends on the external temperature;
-
Low temperature increases it, and high temperature reduces it;
-
When choosing an adhesive for subsequent cladding, be sure to familiarize yourself with its technical card;
- Do not use the product for purposes other than those specified in this technical description.
