Foundation preparation
-
The compressive strength of the base must be at least 25 MPa, and the cohesive strength (peel) at least 1.5 MPa.
-
These parameters are most conveniently determined using a sclerometer (or Schmidt hammer) and an adhesive meter (PSO-5MG4 or similar).
-
Mechanical preparation of the substrate is used not only to remove contaminants and open pores, but also to increase the surface area and improve the adhesion of the polymer coating.
-
The temperature of the base during the application of the material should be from +10°С to +30°С.
-
It must be remembered that sometimes the temperature of the base can be lower than the air temperature by 3-4°C.
-
It is highly undesirable to have areas with a large difference in base temperature within the same working area.
-
This can be caused by various factors, such as sunlight, various equipment in the room, temperature processes in adjacent rooms, etc.
-
The base temperature is most easily measured with a pyrometer (non-contact infrared thermometer).
-
The substrate temperature must be 3ºC above the dew point.
-
The "dew point" is the air temperature at which condensation forms in a room.
-
It varies depending on the humidity in the room and is determined according to the calculation table.
-
The air temperature at the construction site should be between +10°С and +30°С.
-
The presence of drafts is highly undesirable.
Material preparation sequence
-
MasterTop TC 485 W is supplied as a ready-to-use kit in the required proportions.
-
Before mixing, make sure that the temperature of the material is between +15°C and +25°C.
-
MasterTop TC 485 W part B is painted in the corresponding color.
-
Thoroughly mix component "B" (resin) in the original packaging, using a low-speed mixer with a spiral nozzle type "Helical" (300 - 400 rpm) for 3-4 minutes, completely pour component "A" (hardener) into the container component "B" (resin) and mix thoroughly for 3-4 minutes until a homogeneous consistency of the material is obtained.
-
In this case, the areas adjacent to the bottom and to the edges of the mixing container should be captured.
-
After mixing, pour the material into a second, clean container and mix again for 1-2 minutes.
Mixing ratio
- MasterTop TC 485 W Part A: 10 kg. Part B: 15 kg.
-
Material density: 1.25 kg/l.
Material application
-
The application of MasterTop TC 485 W is usually carried out without the use of a primer.
-
However, MasterTop P 677 can be used to increase adhesion and even out rough surfaces .
-
MasterTop TC 485 W is applied using the “painting” method with a roller.
-
MasterTop TC 485 W can be thinned with water if necessary.
Precautionary measures
-
During laying, the ambient temperature must be between +10 ºС and +30 ºС under the concrete slab on which the MasterTop coating is to be laid, a working waterproofing must be present.
-
The product must be applied by qualified installers.
-
For application in cold conditions, warm up the material and fillers in advance (1-2 days in advance).
-
The strength class of the board/screed for applying MasterTop must be at least C25.
-
The terms of work and hardening of systems based on resins depend on the temperature of the environment and the surface, the relative humidity of the air.
-
At low temperatures, the reaction slows down, which prolongs the working time with the mixture and the setting time.
-
High temperatures speed up the reaction, which reduces the working time with the mixture and the setting time.
-
For complete curing of the material, the ambient and surface temperatures must not fall below the specified minimum limits.
-
MasterTop TC 485 W is supplied in certain proportions and ready for use after mixing, do not add solvents.
-
Avoid contact with water for 24 hours after installation.
-
If this happens, the contact coating should be completely replaced.
- Do not mix components by hand.
Cleaning tools
-
After completion of work, the tools are cleaned with an organic solvent.
-
Cured material can be removed mechanically or with an appropriate solvent.
Consumption
-
Depends on the quality of the surface.
-
Dedusting (2 layers, 0.3 mm): 400 g/m2.
-
Tunnel coating (2 coats): 500 g/m2.
- Warehouse of mineral oils (2 layers): 600 g/m2.
-
10 kg of MasterTop TC 485 W is enough to cover an area of 25 m2 (2 coats).
-
If the surface is porous, it is recommended to add 5-10% water to the first coat.
Ecology/waste management
-
The components of the material in the liquid state are hazardous to water and aquatic organisms.
-
Do not allow to enter sewers, watercourses and soil.
-
When cured, MasterTop TC 485 W is not hazardous.
-
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
Package
-
The material is supplied in metal pails.
-
Component A - 10 kg.
-
Component B - 15 kg.
- The weight of the set is 25 kg.
Storage
-
Storage should be carried out in the closed original packaging in a cool and dry place, avoiding freezing.
-
For short-term storage, one-on-one installation of no more than 3 pallets is allowed, shipment must be carried out in the order of receipt.
-
For long-term storage, one-on-one pallets are not allowed.
- The material must be stored in its original packaging in a cool, dry place (at a temperature of +5°C +25°C.
Best before date
-
Under appropriate storage conditions - 12 months from the date of manufacture.
-
Opened packages should be stored tightly closed for no more than 1 week.
Security measures
-
Do not approach storage areas during a fire.
-
Store products in well ventilated areas.
-
During work, work clothes, protective gloves, goggles and a mask should be used in accordance with health and safety regulations.
-
Since uncured materials have an irritating effect, the components should not be allowed to come into contact with the skin and eyes, and in case of contact, rinse with plenty of water.
-
If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
-
It is forbidden to bring food and drink to the construction site where the product is being used.
-
The product must be kept out of the reach of children.
