A task

  • The coating must have high characteristics for abrasion, water resistance, resistance to aggressive environments.

  • Given the slope, when entering the parking lot, it is necessary to roughen the surface for better adhesion of car tires to the floor.

Stages of work on the installation of a polymer floor

Foundation preparation                                                                   

  • Machining of the base (grinding the concrete floor with a grinder).

  • Repair cracks in concrete floor.

  • Dedusting, cleaning and cleaning, using an industrial vacuum cleaner.

Due to the high humidity in the room, it was decided to apply a special epoxy primer for wet concrete structures, VIMEPOX W-BARRIER.

Description VIMEPOX W-BARRIER

  • VIMEPOX W-BARRIER is a three-component, water-borne epoxy system (components A and B), with the addition of hydraulic cement in powder form (component C).

  • The mixture provides excellent adhesion to the wet surface of concrete substrates.

  • VIMEPOX W-BARRIER is used as a primer on fresh (< 28 days old) or wet concrete surfaces.

  • After priming, epoxy coatings such as VIMEPOX FLOORING  and VIMEPOX TOP-COAT or epoxy paints such as VIMEPOX F-COAT and VIMEPOX SP COAT can be used.

Application of primer VIMEPOX W-BARRIER

  • After proper mixing of all primer components, a primer layer was applied to the concrete base using a maklovitsi.

  • After 24 hours, a second coat of primer was applied.

  • The total thickness was: 1 mm.

  • Consumption: 0.7 kg/m/sq.

Result

  • On the surface of the concrete floor, a rough coating was created (sandpaper effect).

  • This coating will increase the adhesion of the subsequent epoxy base coat.

  • A good bond will extend the life of your epoxy floor.

 Polymer wear-resistant floor coating

 Application of the main, carrier layer of Vimatec Flooring

  • 24 hours later, after applying the primer coat of VIMEPOX W-BARRIER,  the first coat of Vimatec Flooring was applied with a notched trowel.

  • A fresh layer of epoxy resin was filled with quartz sand, fractions: 0.3-0.8 mm.

  • After 24 hours, sand that did not set was cleaned using an industrial vacuum cleaner.

  • Applied with a rubber trowel, second coat of Vimatec Flooring.

  • Since the base of the concrete floor is sloping, in all layers, a flow stabilizer was added to the epoxy.

  • Consumption: 2 kg / m / sq. + sand.

  • On the surface of the concrete floor, along the primer layer, a thick-layer coating was created, min 3 mm.

Applying the topcoat VIMEPOX TOP-COAT

VIMEPOX TOP-COAT is a solvent-free, two-component, epoxy, color coating.

VIMEPOX TOP-COAT provides:

  • high mechanical strength;

  • hardness combined with relative elasticity and abrasion resistance;

  • waterproofing and chemical resistance to exposure to: acids, alkalis, solvents, fuels and lubricants, sea water and detergents;

  • durability, no weather damage.

Application of VIMEPOX TOP-COAT

  • 24 hours after applying the base coat of Vimatec Flooring, one coat of VIMEPOX TOP-COAT was applied with a roller.

  • Consumption: 0.5 kg/m/sq.

Result

  • Protected the main layer from destruction and exposure to an aggressive environment.

  • Give the base a uniform gray color.
