Description
Characteristics
Application

LITOCHROM 0-2 | Cementitious grout for tiles, based on hydraulic binders, fine inert fillers, polymers, organic additives and pigments.

Advantages of grout for Lithochrome tiles

  • Grout for Lithochrome tiles, available in two colors: C.00 (white) and C.30 (grey mother-of-pearl);

  • Small fraction;

  • High adhesion of the grout to the edges of the tiles;

  • Cement grout for tiles, has high mechanical strength;

  • Italian tile grout, capable of experiencing high resistance to abrasion loads;

  • Fade resistant;

  • Grout for tiles, can be used for indoor and outdoor use.

CLASSIFICATION ACCORDING TO EN 13888

Litochrom 0-2 + 32% water: class CG2WA.

APPLICATION AREA

It is intended for grouting joints up to 2 mm wide, with external, internal floor and wall cladding, from any type of ceramic tile, natural stone, glass mosaic.

SEAM PREPARATION

  • Make sure that the ceramic surface does not present problems with cleaning and absorbency;

  • The adhesive or mortar used when laying the tiles must harden and dry completely;

  • Seams must be free of dust and traces of glue, at least 2/3 of the thickness of the tile;

  • When working with porous surfaces, as well as in hot climates, it is necessary to moisten the seams with a sponge soaked in water.

SOLUTION PREPARATION

  • Dilution ratio: 1.6 liters (32%) of water per 5 kg (1 bag) Litochrom 0-2;

  • To obtain a solution, mix in a clean container 1.6 liters of clean water and 5 kg (1 bag) of Litochrom 0-2 dry mix;

  • Slowly pour the powder into the water with constant stirring with an electric drill, with a mixing nozzle until a homogeneous, lump-free solution is obtained;

Preparation of Litochrom 0-2 solution + Idrostuk

  • To obtain a solution, pour 1.6 liters of Idrostuk latex additive into a clean container;

  • Pour in gradually 5 kg (1 bag) of Litochrom 0-2 dry mixture with continuous stirring with an electric drill, with a mixing attachment, until a homogeneous, lump-free mass is obtained;

  • Attention! Keep the resulting solution for 5 minutes;

  • After repeated mixing, the solution is ready for use.

USAGE

IDROSTUK Litochrom 0-2 + Idrostuk is used for grouting tile joints in swimming pools, balconies, terraces, floor coverings subject to heavy traffic, as well as to increase the elasticity of the grout mixture, improve the adhesion of the grout to the side surface of the tile and reduce its surface water absorption.

APPLICATION

  • Fill the joints with mortar, distributing it with a rubber spatula diagonally relative to the joints;

  • It is necessary to fill the entire depth of the seams, leaving no voids;

  • Excess material from the surface of the ceramic cladding is removed with the same spatula.

SURFACE CLEANING

  • Surface cleaning is carried out after the grout has hardened in the joints in about 5-20 minutes, depending on the degree of water absorption of the tile, temperature and humidity of the environment;

  • High temperature and low humidity shorten the waiting time before cleaning and, conversely, low temperature and high humidity prolong it;

  • In any case, it is advisable to feel the consistency of the grout in the joints, which should be thick enough to avoid emptying the joints during cleaning;

  • Cleaning is carried out with a damp cellulose or foam sponge, moving diagonally in relation to the direction of the joints, removing excess material from the surface of the tile, obtaining a smooth surface of the joints;

  • It is recommended to wash the sponge in clean water more often;

  • If the cladding is cleaned when the mortar in the joints has not yet hardened, there is a risk of partially washing the mortar out of the joints, which will lead to uneven color of the grout in the joints;

  • If, on the contrary, the cleaning of the lining is started too late and the mortar has already set, its excess can only be removed mechanically, at the risk of damaging the surface of the tile;

  • The plaque remaining on the surface of the tile can be removed with a dry cloth;

  • If, after cleaning, there are still stains or grout residues on the tile, they can be removed with Litoclean acid cleaning powder or Litoclean Plus liquid 6-7 days after application;

  • Do not use Litoclean or Litoclean Plus on acid-resistant surfaces such as marble, limestone, etc.

 ATTENTION

  • Do not add lime, cement, gypsum or other materials to the product;

  • An overdose of water during the preparation of the mortar leads to a decrease in the mechanical properties of the material and changes in the final color of the grout after drying;

  • "Rise" of moisture from the substrate or residual moisture contained in the adhesive or mortar used when laying the tiles can cause a white coating to form on the surface of the joints;

  • In high temperature, low humidity or windy climates, in order to improve the hydration process, it is necessary to moisten the grout in the joints with a damp foam sponge for the first 4 hours;

  • In case of high demands on the chemical resistance of tile joints, use acid-resistant two-component epoxy compounds Epoxystuk X90 or Starlike;

  • Do not use the product for purposes other than those specified in this data sheet.
