BOTAMENT BE 89 | Elastic waterproofing membrane, based on modified bitumen emulsion, for waterproofing structures and building elements.
-
BOTAMENT BE 89 is applied efficiently and economically using the airless spray method;
-
The material does not contain abrasive fillers, therefore it protects equipment from damage and excessive wear;
-
BOTAMENT BE 89 can be used to restore old roofs and open terraces, including those made from roofing material;
-
To perform new waterproofing of foundations, to protect concrete floors, cement screeds, from the effects of capillary moisture.
-
Horizontal waterproofing and protection of structures;
-
In case of intense UV radiation, it is recommended to sprinkle the fresh coating with dry sand with a fraction of 1-4 mm to protect the waterproofing;
-
The material has good adhesion to concrete, plasters of classes CS II, CS III and CS IV in accordance with EN 998-1, sand-lime bricks, cellular concrete, hollow bricks, concrete blocks, pumice, wood, steel and roofing material;
-
BOTAMENT BE 89 is resistant to weathering and aggressive substances, spreading in the soil, in accordance with DIN 4030.
Properties
-

Foundation preparation
-
Substrate: dry, clean and unfrozen, free from grease, oil, paint, cement laitance, delamination and construction debris;
-
There should be no protruding parts on the base, the edges of the elements must be cleaned of construction debris and dirt;
-
At the outer corners, it is necessary to make chamfers, and in the inner corners, arrange fillets from the mineral solution;
- Steel substrates must be clean (standardized purity grade SA 2 ½ in accordance with DIN EN ISO 12944-4);
-
When applying the material to masonry, the masonry joints must be completely filled with mortar;
-
Absorbent, bituminous substrates must be primed with BOTAMENT BE 901 primer;
-
Bituminous substrates should be primed with BOTAMENT B 97 L and sprinkled over the fresh layer with dry sand, with a grain size of about 0.5 mm;
-
Before applying the base coat of waterproofing, the base coat must be completely dry;
-
Substrates with low strength, such as cellular concrete, must be primed with BOTAMENT D 12 primer;
- When applying BOTAMENT BE 89 by airless spray, the substrate must be primed.
Application
-
Before using BOTAMENT BE 89, the material must be mixed;
-
It is necessary to apply waterproofing, from the side of exposure to water;
-
For coating roofs, brush, roller or spray equipment can be used;
-
When applying, it is necessary to carefully cover the surface of the inner and outer corners;
-
Waterproofing must be done in at least 2 layers;
-
The drying time of one layer is about 24 hours;
-
The next layer can be applied only after the previous one has dried;
-
It is possible to fill up the pit only after the last layer of waterproofing and the installation of a protective, drainage coating have completely dried;
-
Waterproofing protection must be performed in accordance with existing standards and regulations.
- To do this, we recommend using the BOTAMENT DS 993 drainage slab.
Recommendations
-
Exposure to direct sunlight can lead to softening of the coating and the formation of bubbles;
-
Prolonged exposure to the weather must be avoided, so this can lead to cracking of the surface;
-
The technical recommendations of all materials used with BOTAMENT BE 89 must be followed;
- For optimal results, we recommend a trial application of the material before use.
