Roofing material sealing on an open terrace

A task

It is necessary to repair the old bitumen-polymer membrane, on an open and operated terrace, due to the appearance of a large number of leaks and the penetration of moisture into the room.

Solution

It was decided to repair the roofing material using Pazkar elastic bituminous mastic.

Stages of work

Cleaning the base (roofing material)

The roofing material was cleaned and granite powder was collected from the membrane for reuse.

• We carried out priming work on roofing material, a water-based liquid bituminous primer.

• Micropores were sealed in the old roofing material.

• Increased adhesion of the new waterproofing coating to the bituminous rolled membrane.

Sealing joints and ruberoid joints

• With the help of non-woven tape and bituminous mastic, wall * floor junctions, seams in the rolled membrane were sealed.

• A non-woven tape is laid on the mastic layer and embedded in liquid bitumen.

• After drying, it is sealed with a second layer of bituminous waterproofing.

Repair of roofing material on an open terrace

• Applied in two layers on the roofing material, with an interval of 24 hours, bituminous elastic mastic.

• On the second fresh layer, they backfilled with fine granite chips to make the protective bituminous coating ultraviolet-resistant and the ability to move, in the warm season, on mastic, without sticking shoes.

Summary

• The customer received a new seamless waterproofing coating, on which the terrace board will be mounted.

• The waterproofing on the terrace was repaired, without dismantling the old roll cake.

• An elastic waterproofing coating that will withstand temperature extremes well, as well as cover new small cracks in the roofing material.
