Quick drying floor screed
Litoplan Smart
Heated screed
Screed in plastering
Cementitious leveling compound of gray color, fast setting and drying, based on hydraulic binders, inert fillers and special organic additives.
Advantages
-
High mechanical resistance to compression and bending after only 3 hours.
-
Easy to apply on vertical and horizontal surfaces.
-
Increased working time with the solution (about 60 minutes).
-
Smooth finish surface.
-
High adhesion with the bases.
-
No shrinkage.
- Product with very low emission of volatile organic compounds, complies with EC1Plus (Emicode) and A+ (French Regulation) classes.
Application area
Designed for leveling vertical and horizontal surfaces indoors and outdoors with a layer of 1 to 25 mm per application.
It is used to level the following types of bases:
-
anchor and "floating" cement-sand screeds;
-
screeds made on the basis of Litocem or Litocem Pronto;
-
leveling walls and floors of concrete structures in bathrooms and swimming pools;
-
heated screeds;
-
foundations made of monolithic and prefabricated reinforced concrete;
-
cement and cement-sand plasters;
-
horizontal and vertical surfaces made of ceramics, stone chips or natural stone slabs;
- concrete stair steps and landings, concrete columns, irregularities and depressions on the surface of concrete bases.
Foundation preparation
-
Cementitious, porous and dusty substrates should be pretreated with Primer C.
-
Concrete substrates should be pretreated with Primer C to improve adhesion.
-
Anhydrite screeds must be sanded, dust-free and primed with Primer C.
-
Existing ceramic tiles or marble chips should be degreased with a 10% solution of caustic soda, rinsed and dried, and then primed with Prepara Fondo.
-
Substrates must be clean, dry, firm, compact, sufficiently mature, free of chipping parts and free of residual moisture.
- In case of cracking, they must be treated with Decor Primer Fondo, sprinkling sand or dry quartz with a particle size of 0.4-1 mm on the freshly treated surface.
Solution preparation
-
Dilution ratio: 5 liters (20%) of water per 25 kg (1 bag) Litoplan Smart - to obtain a thixotropic mortar for application on vertical surfaces.
-
6 liters (24%) of water per 25 kg (1 bag) Litoplan Smart - to obtain a plastic mortar for use on horizontal surfaces.
-
Pour the required amount of water into a clean container, depending on the application, and slowly add Litoplan Smart.
-
Mix with an electric drill with a mixer until a homogeneous, lump-free solution is obtained.
-
Attention! Keep the resulting solution for 5 minutes. After repeated mixing, the solution is ready for use.
-
The pot life of the finished mortar at +23 °C is about 60 minutes, therefore it is recommended to mix the amount of material that will be used during this period of time.
-
Observe the specified amount of water for the preparation of the solution.
-
Excess water will cause the product to shrink during maturation and reduce its mechanical properties.
- Do not add water while the mortar is setting.
Applying screed or plaster
-
The mixture is applied directly to the substrate using a metal spatula.
-
It is necessary to press the solution to the base to improve adhesion.
-
If it is necessary to apply a layer of increased thickness on large areas, it is necessary to form the formwork using Litoplan Smart, and then level the surface with a metal rule.
-
To obtain a smoother surface, use a spatula after the product has begun to set and become sufficiently hard.
- The subsequent corrective layer can be applied 3 hours after the application of the first layer.
Subsequent laying of the mixture
-
The subsequent laying of tiles or stone can be started after 4-6 hours (the time depends on the temperature and humidity of the environment).
-
Laying parquet or linoleum - after 24 hours.
- When laying parquet, the minimum layer thickness of Litoplan Smart must be 3 mm, and before gluing, the residual moisture must be measured with a carbide moisture meter (maximum value 2%).
Recommended screed adhesive
For laying ceramic tiles, mosaics or stone: cement or epoxy-polyurethane adhesive mixtures.
Choose an adhesive depending on the type and format of the tile, guided by the relevant technical instructions for the adhesive and the general summary table.
Compatible waterproofing materials
Before laying ceramic tiles on substrates made with Litoplan Smart, traditional waterproofing compounds based on Elastocem or Coverflex cement, as well as the dispersion membrane Hidroflex, Aquamaster, Primer SK, can be used.
Attention
-
Do not add lime, cement or other materials to the product.
-
Do not apply on substrates with a residual moisture content of more than 3%.
-
Do not use for leveling plasterboard, gypsum and expanded cellular concrete walls.
-
Use the exact amount of water to prepare the solution.
-
More water can affect the curing time and also create a risk of cracking.
-
Protect from direct sunlight and strong drafts for the first 12 hours after application.
-
During the subsequent laying of parquet, the layer thickness must be at least 3 mm.
-
In the case of wooden substrates or substrates subject to deformation and/or vibration, it is necessary to mix Litoplan Smart with Latexkol latex additive, completely replacing the water, until the desired consistency is obtained.
- Do not use the product for purposes other than those specified in this technical description.
