A task

A crack in a concrete floor slab needs to be repaired.

Solution

Since the crack in the floor is very deep, more than 50% of the thickness of the concrete floor, it was decided to glue the crack in the concrete using MasterBrace ADH 1420 epoxy anchor mortar and MasterEmaco S 488 PG quick curing mortar.

• The crack was filled with a grinder and a diamond cutter for concrete.

• Opened access to fill the crack in the concrete to the full depth.

Foundation preparation

The entire crack in the concrete was cleaned and dust-free using an industrial vacuum cleaner.

• Performed the correct mixing of two-component epoxy resin MasterBrace ADH 1420.

• The crack in the concrete floor was filled with a poured epoxy adhesive system.

MasterBrace ADH 1420 is a two part, solvent free epoxy based mix.

Application area

MasterBrace ADH 1420 is used as:

• anti-corrosion coating to protect reinforcement during the repair and restoration of reinforced concrete structures;

• primer to create an adhesive layer between hardened and freshly laid concrete or mortar;

• glue for gluing metal, stone and other materials;

• anchoring mortar on horizontal surfaces.

With the help of the MasterEmaco S 488 PG pourable repair compound, the crack was caulked.

Summary

Without the use of metal anchors and fittings, the cracks in the concrete floor were glued together in a short time.
