 Solution

  • Based on the data obtained, under the conditions of the project, an epoxy resin coating system was chosen, water-based and solvent-free.

  • Since the pungent odor of the solvent would definitely harm the health of workers in a confined space, the decision was made to use the VIMEPOX polymer coating system.

Stages of work

Foundation preparation

  • The mechanical preparation of the concrete base was carried out using a grinding machine.

  • Dusting and cleaning, using an industrial vacuum cleaner.

  • On the prepared concrete base, an epoxy two-component primer, water-based VIMEPOX PRIMER-W, was applied.

  • VIMEPOX PRIMER-W is a two-component, solvent-free, transparent epoxy primer.

  • VIMEPOX PRIMER-W - creates a water barrier on the surface of freshly prepared or wet concrete structures. 

  • It is applied before application of VIMEPOX FLOORING and VIMEPOX TOP-COAT epoxy compounds. Has no smell.

  • VIMEPOX PRIMER-W - is a water-soluble two-component epoxy system.

  • It has high adhesion to cement substrates and excellent resistance to mechanical stress.

  • The material can be applied on dry and slightly damp surfaces (without standing water), as well as indoors, as it does not have a strong smell of solvents.

 Application

  • VIMEPOX PRIMER-W is used as a primer on cementitious substrates (concrete, cement mortars) before applying VIMEPOX FLOORING and VIMEPOX TOP COAT epoxy coatings and VIMEPOX F-COAT and SP COAT epoxy paint.

  •  After application, a seal of the surface pores of the absorbent base and a single continuous surface is created, as well as dust residues are neutralized.

  •  This ensures optimum adhesion for final coating application.

Application of VIMEPOX PRIMER-W as an impregnation:

  • improves surface strength;

  • solves the problem of slightly exceeding the permissible humidity when adding quartz sand M32 (Ø 0.1 - 0.4 mm) to VIMEPOX PRIMER-W in a ratio of 1: 5, the resulting mixture can be used to make a mortar for filling pores and cracks;

  •  VIMEPOX PRIMER-W can be used for priming surfaces before applying various epoxy and polyurethane coatings;

  • Consumption: 0.3 kg/m/sq.

  • In places with low intensive loading, VIMEPOX TOP-COAT was applied.

  • VIMEPOX TOP-COAT is a solvent-free, two-component, epoxy, color coating.

 VIMEPOX TOP-COAT provides :

  • high mechanical strength: a combination of relative elasticity and abrasion hardness;

  • waterproofing and chemical resistance to: acids, alkalis, solvents, fuels and lubricants, sea water and detergents;

  • durability, no damage from weather influences.

VIMEPOX TOP-COAT is used as a protective coating and for decorative painting of cement-concrete structures, screeds, as well as for plastered, asbestos-cement, vertical-horizontal iron and steel surfaces.

VIMEPOX TOP-COAT is designed for sealing (painting) surfaces less than 1mm thick (for repeated painting), which complies with the DIN 28052-1 standard for medium mechanical, both static and kinetic effects (for example, for cars with inflatable tires ) for category 2 with a load of up to 1 n / mm2 = 100 t / m2.

VIMEPOX TOP-COAT has excellent chemical resistance.

  • The top layer of structures painted with this material does not show any toxicity, as well as the effect of transferring harmful substances to food.

  • This epoxy compound is suitable for floor and wall covering in food production areas.

  • Apply two coats 24 hours apart.

  • Consumption: 0.7 kg/m/sq/2 layers.

For corridors and places with high foot traffic, it was decided to use VIMEPOX FLOORING.

  • VIMEPOX FLOORING is a two-component, solvent-free, self-levelling epoxy flooring compound. 

  • When quartz sand is added with a fraction size of 0.01-0.3 mm, a self-leveling mixture is created to cover the surface with one layer 1-3 mm thick. 

  • The created epoxy floor surface has perfect adhesion to the concrete base, elasticity, water resistance, resistance to mechanical and chemical influences. 

  • Consumption: 0.6 kg/m²/mm when adding 1.20 kg/m²/mm quartz sand.
